When to Fire a Salesperson

Eliminating “sales slugs” from your "sales garden" is sometimes necessary. Nobody likes to do it, but sometimes it's in everyone's best interest. 

We compiled a list of how you need to go about terminating a salesperson.

 Here’s your list:

  • Cut a salesperson who is not making it within 45-60 days. Virtually every salesperson can get a sale within two months. Hope beats eternal in the heart of every sales manager. Resist optimism and manage from systems.
  • Use a scientifically validated personality profile before you make the final decision. Once you see their profile on paper you'll know whether it is something that can be fixed. 
  • Become the best sales manager you can become. 
  • The best salesperson does not usually make the best sales manager.
